Welcome to the GREAT Project Website!

The GREAT Project (Global RICE Empowers Academics & Training) is an outreach initiative of the Office of International Students & Scholars (OISS) to support Rice University’s mission (V2C2) to engage Houston in meaningful ways. The OISS seeks to offer our international students and scholars professional development opportunities through mentorship, sharing of their rich cultural backgrounds and imparting academic expertise, and while reaching out academically to the community.

The GREAT Project provides informal, academic and cultural opportunities to young adults with IDD (generally 20-29 years old, high-functioning, and able to participate in a level-appropriate workshop).

For information on the informal, non-credit global immersion workshops for special friends, click here. You can also view short videos of our past classes below.
