Welcome to the GREAT Project Website!
The GREAT Project (Global RICE Empowers Academics & Training) is an outreach initiative of Rice University’s Office of International Students & Scholars (OISS) office to promote the key priorities of access and inclusion, as well as support Rice’s priority of engaging the local community.
GREAT offers global-based immersion classes about their countries, through graduate international students and international scholars, who teach, mentor and befriend young adults with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD). Opportunities and recognition expand for the young adults who participate in this program, through academics and intercultural learning.
